Will the medical certificate function as entry permit for travelling abroad?

Once your sample has been analyzed and you have a negative result, you will have the opportunity to download a medical certificate (signed by a doctor) confirming that SARS-CoV-2 has not been detected in the sample.

Since sampling date is not stated on the certificate, we cannot guarantee that it will be valid as a travel certificate for entry in the country you are travelling to. Different countries have different regulations and they change often. That is why it is important that you check the regulations yourself before travelling. On the website Sweden abroad you can find more information about the regulations in the country you are planning to visit.

The certificate states:

  • name
  • social security number (Swedish)
  • address
  • passport number
  • analysis code
  • date of arrival of the sample at the laboratory
  • and the date of submission of answers.

Sampling date is not stated on the certificate.

What should I do to get results in time?

If your assessment is that our medical certificate will be valid as a health insurance for your planned activity, e.g travelling, you should do the following to ensure getting the test result on time.

1. Make sure to buy the test and have it ready to take at home well before your journey. Within Sweden, the ordinary delivery time for orders is 1-3 weekdays. If you order your test before 13:00, we will send it the same day. If you place your order after 13:00, the test is sent on the following weekday.

2. If you need to have the test result for a specific day, for example, the day before a trip, we recommend that you use "Expressbrev" at Postnord, to send the samples back to us. Follow the link below and you will find more information about "Expressbrev" and further instructions.

https://www.postnord.se/skicka-forsandelser/brev-och-vykort/expressbrev

You will need to pay for the costs and make the booking yourself. If we receive your samples before 10:00, they will be analysed the same day. All returns must be sent to our door. We are unable to collect returned tests at an external collection point.

3. If you do not want to use "Expressbrev" at Postnord, we recommend that you post the samples in the postbox outside Postnord's terminal in Linköping (Södra Oscarsgatan 4) before 18:00 on the weekday before the samples are to be analysed. That way, the samples will reach us before 10:00 on the next weekday.

4. You can always choose to post the samples via your usual postbox, and the normal delivery time will be 1-3 weekdays. Take the test and send it back to us the same day, as the samples only last for three days. Avoid sending in your samples before the weekend, since neither the postal service nor the analysis will be available.

5. When the samples have arrived at our laboratory, you will receive a result no later than the next weekday.

Sometimes it can be necessary for samples to be re-analysed, or new samples may need to be collected. There is, therefore, always a small risk that you will not receive your test results (and the accompanying certificate) on the exact day you expect. If new samples are needed, we will send a new test kit to you at no extra cost.

How do I get my certificate?

Write your analysis code on our website (www.dynamiccode.com/se/hamta-testsvar) and click on "Get result".

When your samples have been analysed and you have received a negative result, you will have the opportunity to download a doctor's certificate (signed by a doctor) which confirms that SARS-CoV-2 has not been detected in the test.

The doctor's certificate is in both Swedish and English. When you open the certificate, the Swedish is at the top of the page, and if you scroll down, you will find it in English.

The certificate can only be downloaded once, so be sure to save it immediately.

On the certificate, the date of the sample’s arrival at the laboratory is shown, as well as the date of the results being released. The specific date on which the test was taken is not shown.

Who can take the test?

NOTE! You need to have a Swedish personal identity number in order to be able to take the test.

The test does not have an age limit and can be carried out on children as long as the samples can be taken according to the instructions.

How long does it take for my test to be sent to my home?

If you order your test before 13:00, we will send it the same day. If you place your order after 13:00, the test will be sent on the following weekday. Within Sweden, the ordinary delivery time is 1-3 weekdays.

How long does it take for my samples to arrive to the laboratory?

After you have taken the samples, you will need to send them back to us, which takes a further 1-3 weekdays. Post the box in your nearest postbox. The samples only last for three days, so be sure to take the test at the beginning of the week and send it back on the same day.

*If you need to have the test result for a specific day, for example, the day before a trip, we recommend that you use "Expressbrev" at Postnord to send the samples back to us. Follow the link below and you will find more information about "Expressbrev" and further instructions.

When will I get my results?

Once we have received the samples, you will receive a result at the latest on the next weekday. The results can be accessed at dynamiccode.com by entering your personal analysis code.

Sometimes samples may need to be re-analysed, or new samples may need to be collected. There is, therefore, always a small risk that you will not receive your test results (and the accompanying certificate) on the exact day you expect. If new samples are needed, we will send a new test kit to you at no extra cost.

Does this test show whether I have had COVID-19 previously?

No, this test does not show if you have developed antibodies for COVID-19 and therefore cannot check whether you have previously had the virus.

This test instead shows if you have an ongoing COVID-19 infection, by using PCR analysis to detect genes from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. In other words, it shows whether you have COVID-19 when the samples are taken.

How are the samples taken?

The samples are taken through the sampling swab being rubbed against the tonsils for 5 - 7 seconds, and then against the throat walls for the same amount of time. When you do this, it can cause a gag reflex, which means you are touching the right place.

You should then rotate the sampling swab 2-3 cm up in your nose for 5-7 seconds. You should not push it all the way up through the nostril.

How are the samples sent in?

You fill in and sign the accompanying disease control note, and return them to the box that the test arrived in. When you have collected the samples, the test tube is placed in the accompanying zip bag, which you then put in the box. The accompanying return label is stuck around the whole box. When that is done, you should post the kit box at the nearest postbox.

If you need to have the test result for a specific day, for example, the day before a trip, we recommend that you use "Expressbrev" at Postnord to send the samples back to us. Follow the link below and you will find more information about "Expressbrev" and further instructions.

Must the samples be taken within a specific time frame?

Once you have received the test, you can take it at your convenience. The test lasts for over a year.

When you have actually taken the samples, you must ensure to send back the kit on the same day. Avoid taking the samples on a day before the weekend or on a weekend day, as no deliveries take place on the weekends. If the test is older than 3 days, we cannot analyse it.
